Begin again

I've been considering starting up a cooking blog to share my culinary exploits but was always too shy to come around to posting pictures and such of my baked goods (when they actually do turn out looking like something you'd consider taking a photo of) but I decided to start when I got my new kitchen aid mixer. To me a kitchen aid was always something serious bakers had and you had to be serious about wanting to bake to get one. I know there are scrumptious goods to be made without one as my mother's good hands can tell me, but it still had the allure of being professional but the off-limits of that as well. I better be serious if I want one. Now That I have it I guess I better be serious about it.

So my kitchen aid. I know I said new but it is definitely not new. I actually acquired it for free from a work friend who thought it had broken and her husband had already bought a new one for her and she was going to throw it out. I was shocked to hear this especially when she confessed the problem was just in the power cord. So I casually asked if I could take a look at it before she threw it out, maybe see if the problem was fixable so she could return the new one. But she had already started using the new one and had no interest in the old one and brought it in for me the next day. Quick cord fix and she's good as new! well, except for a whining engine, but I dont mind her complaints.

The paint may be chipped and the metal on the attachments are old but she's a kitchen aid and she's mine. so now I will work with her and learn together to mix and bake my way into making yummies and hopefully learning from my mistakes more than not.
